My first reaction was, Jeez this one is very inexpensive. Michley Lil Sew & Sew LSS-505 is the best beginner sewing machine you could ever get in U.S for such low price. This sewing machine is designed for basic stuff, don’t expect a work horse for such a low price. In fact, this model is pretty popular among beginners in U.S, unlikely for such a basic product.

Before doing Michley Lil Sew & Sew LSS-505 review, I set my expectations to a lower level. Lot of disappointments for this machine come from high expectations. It is a sin to expect a lot from a such low priced sewing machine. Michley Lil Sew & Sew is a cute little sewing machine. It is incredibly light as well.

Usability

Michley Lil Sew & Sew LSS-505 accessories include a foot pedal, AC adapter and thread bag.

Threading Michley Lil Sew & Sew LSS-505 is slightly difficult. If you are using the threader you must insert the threader from the back. You can run the machine on battery as well, you need 4 AA batteries to operate. There is a Low and High speed setting to control the sewing speed. 8 built-in stitches include 3 straight stitches, 3 zig zag stitches, one blind hem stitch and one scallop stitch. You can select the stitch using the selection knob on the machine.

You can adjust the tension with a manually adjustable dial on the front of the machine. You must use metal bobbins for this machine as it uses magnetized tension mechanism. The built in LED light works kind of okay.

Limitaions of  Michley Lil Sew & Sew LSS-505

One huge bummer of LSS-505 is the lack of buttonhole stitch. I would have loved to have one. It comes with a 3 piece feed dog which is another disadvantage. Weak feed dogs may become an issue over time. There is no option to adjust the stitch length as well.
