Features Run Through

Janome Magnolia 7318 comes with 18 built-in stitches which include utility and decorative stitches. It has a reverse stitch lever for locking stitches. It also has a thread cutter on the back. It can stitch at a speed of 830 stitches/min. It comes with 4 inter-changeable snap on feet. A storage compartment is provided at the base of the machine. You can do free arm stitching as well. You can easily lower the feed dogs using the slider provided at the bottom of the machine.

The needle plate markings is a great addition. I really like the extra high presser foot lift which is really an advantage while working on bulky projects. You can easily replace the bobbin on this machine. It also comes with a clear cover, which lets you monitor the thread supply.

There are two dials on Janome Magnolia 7318 with which you can select the stitch and adjust stitch length. You can adjust the stitch width to a maximum of 5mm and length to a maximum of 4mm. You can adjust the needle position as well. It also comes with an LED work light. It has 25 year limited warranty.

User Manual

The user manual of Janome Magnolia 7318 is extremely detailed. It is easy to read and understand.

Usability

Straight stitches on Janome Magnolia 7318 looks great. This machine is very stable, you won’t feel any vibrations when it is in operation. One thing I really liked about this machine is the ease with which you can replace bobbins. It sew through multiple layers of denim without much difficulty.

Limitations

This is not a computerized sewing machine. So those people who like the computer to do most of the work may not like this machine. The machine is noisy as well.

Pros

  • Sturdy
  • Very easy to add bobbin
  • Stable
  • Easy to use

Cons

  • Mechanical machine
  • Noisy
  • Price may be a concern
Overall, Janome Magnolia 7318 is a quality machine. It doesn’t have all the fancy stitches that a Brother or Singer machine has, but it does what it is supposed to do. Even though it is a great machine, I still feel it is priced high for the features on board.
