SINGER 7469Q Review

Sewing Machine Reviews Recommendation Level : HIGH

Singer has introduced several models in the Confidence category and this one is one among them. SINGER 7469Q is a computerized quilting and sewing machine. It operates quietly as well. It comes with 25 year limited warranty. The user manual comes with an instructional DVD with instructions on how to use the sewing machine.

Usability

The LCD screen is easy to adjust. You can easily adjust the stitch length using slider in front of the machine (If you don’t like the automatic settings). Small LED light on the left side of the sliders will show you the best settings that will work with the stitch selected. When the LED is green, you can assume that your settings are perfect. The foot pedal is nice and easy to use.

Twin needle mechanism and automatic needle up down is another good feature that quilters will love or you can say that it is a must for quilters. There is a slide down menu at the bottom of SINGER 7469Q, which can be used as a guide for stitch selection. The extra high presser foot lifter provides good clearance when dealing with multiple layers of fabric. The drop-in bobbin makes it easy to thread the bobbin area. Threading SINGER 7469Q is easy, if you follow the numbered thread path. Automatic tension means you don’t need to worry about thread tension anymore. But some customers have reported that it misbehaves at times.

The push button reverse option enables you to reinforce the seam in the beginning and at the end. You can easily cut the thread using the automatic thread cutter provided at the side of the sewing machine. The work light LEDs are very dim, it is a huge bummer. You will have to use another lamp to illuminate the work space.

The stitches on SINGER 7469Q come out perfectly straight.

The accessories come with a walking foot which you need for quilting, to keep multiple layers of fabric together. It comes with quite a lot of accessories.

Overall, SINGER 7469Q will be a good choice for you if you are just upgrading your level from beginner to advanced. It is a good value for money product. But if you are an advanced sewer who sew a lot (by that I mean, quite a lot), you can consider a slightly expensive machine like Brother PQ1500S.
