Singer Curvy 8763 is a beautiful sewing machine with that purple color in front. It is a computerized, beginners sewing machine. It is priced high for a beginners machine though. We will get back to the limitations later. It comes with 25 year limited warranty cover.
Singer introduces swift smart threading system with Curvy 8763. It is a digital technology to make threading easy. You just need to follow the directions and you can thread the needle using the needle threader lever. Singer Curvy 8763 comes with 30 built-in stitches which include 6 essential stitches, 5 stretch stitches, 17 decorative stitches and two 1-step buttonholes. It has top drop-in bobbin system as well.
You can select stitches on Singer Curvy 8763 using 5 selection buttons provided in front of the machine. It has quick snap on presser feet. You can adjust presser foot settings in 3 ways down, up and high. You can remove the extension table for free-arm sewing. There is a reverse button for reverse stitching. There is reinforcing functionality as well.The horizontal thread delivery system on Singer Curvy 8763 ensures better thread control.
You can do twin-needle sewing on this machine, but you will have to buy the needle separately. The machine will automatically adjust the stitch length and width for you, but you have options for manual adjustments. This machine can sew at a speed of 750 stitches/min.

The manual comes with an included instructional DVD. The instruction manual is very easy to read and understand.
Usability
Singer Curvy 8763 covers all the basic stitches required by a beginner. This is a pretty sturdy machine and it is heavy as well. The built-in work light LEDs are super bright. The tension on this machines seems to come just about right in the automatic settings. The stitches look really pretty. It makes sewing effortless. The foot pedal is very responsive and easy, but it may take some time to get used to it.
Limitations
The price itself is the biggest bummer. Singer somehow could have included at least 50 built-in stitches for the price, especially when cheaper computerized machines from Brother provide more stitches.

Overall, Singer Curvy 8763 is a good sewing machine. If you are not a fan of fancy stitches and stuffs, this machine will work for you. It doesn’t have lot of features to offer, but it does a pretty decent job with its limited abilities. Another alternative model you could consider is Brother CS6000i which is couple of dollars cheaper (at the time of writing this review) and has 60 built-in stitches, automatic needle threader and many more features.
