Janome 200E is a computerized embroidery only machine from the Japanese manufacturer. It is a perfect machine for beginners. This machine adds a professional touch to your projects. The best part is that this machine comes with a large embroidery area of 5″ x 5″. Normally you  get 4″ x 4″ machines for this price (Machines from Brother and Singer).  So there is no question about the affordability of this machine. All the questions are about the quality, let us see whether it lives up to our expectations.

One thing I have always noticed is that Janome never compromised on build quality. They always tried to use heavy-duty metal wherever possible. In areas where they use plastic, they use high quality plastic as well. Janome 200E Memory Craft is no exception in that case. The machine comes with 73 built-in embroidery designs and 3 monogramming fonts. Another good feature of this embroidery machine is the USB connectivity. You can import designs from your computer and save it on the machine. The supported embroidery file format is JEF. You can save up to 100 designs on the device memory. This machine also features an automatic needle threader. It has an extra-high presser foot lifter as well.

Janome 200E comes with a lot of options for customization. The LCD touchscreen is where you will edit all the settings. It has multiple resizing capability (90, 100, 110 and 120%). Some other features include

Usability

As I have said earlier, Janome 200E is a good beginners embroidery machine. It is a simple and easy to use machine. One good thing about this machine is that you can use different brands of threads without any issues. It is a sturdy machine. One thing I forgot to mention was, the touchscreen supports 11 languages. This machine can stitch at a speed of 650 stitches/minute which clearly suggests that it has a strong motor inside.

Limitations

I have noticed that this machine does skip stitches occasionally. Doesn’t happen that often though, may be it was just with the machine I got.

Overall, I am very much satisfied by the performance of Janome 200E. The reason why I consider this machine as a good bargain is because of the 5″x5″ embroidery area. As I have said earlier, you won’t get embroidery machines with same hoop size for this price. I am not saying that this is the best embroidery machine you can get, but this is definitely an affordable one.
