Singer 44s Vs 4432 – Final Verdict

Singer 44s and 4432 are two closely priced heavy duty machines. But one is definitely better than the other.

Singer 44s and 4432 belong to the range of budget heavy duty sewing machines. Both come in an affordable price range and are quality performers. Both machines might look poles apart when you look at them from a distance, but only a closer inspection reveals how similar they are in features. Sometimes, there will be a considerable price gap between them. So you must think twice before making a decision. What you need to know is, which machine will offer more value for your hard earned money.

Singer 44s Vs 4432 – Features Comparison

As I have said earlier, both machines come with a heavy duty tag (Though you can’t quite call them as full fledged heavy duty machines as there are some plastic parts). Singer 4432 is definitely the popular of the two. Singer 44s comes nowhere near the sales volume of Singer 4432, which means there is something that makes people choose 4432 over 44s. The reason, you will find out later in the post. First let us have a look at the feature differences.

Built-in Stitches : This is where the decision is made 9 out of 10 times. Because this is the only feature difference between Singer 44s and 4432. Singer 4432 has 32 built-in stitches indicated by its model number, whereas Singer 44s has only 23 built in stitches. 4432 is a clear winner especially if both machines are closely priced (machine prices keep on changing according to shopping season). You will get additional 3 stretch stitches and 6 decorative stitches with 4432 when compared to 44s.

Machine Color : This is where the second difference can be spotted. 44s comes in a white finish and is definitely the more attractive of the two. 4432 has a grey or ash kind of finish. For me, color of a sewing machine is not something that you must consider as an important thing (you are not buying a car or something like that). Moreover, 44s can catch dirt easily as it is white.

Singer 44s Vs 4432 – Performance Comparison

The internal parts of both machines are the same, so you can’t pick a winner here. Both machines use the same motor. The motor is at least 35% more powerful than other machines in this price range (Singer says 60%, but around 35% is what I felt from my experience).

As 4432 comes with 9 extra stitches, you have a bit more options to choose from that’s all.

Verdict

Considering the 9 extra stitches on offer for more or less the same price, I guess Singer 4432 is a better choice. But you must compare the prices as they keep on changing. A price difference of under $25 (assuming Singer 4432 as the expensive one) is completely justifiable, anything more than that won’t be a good deal.
