SINGER 2259 Review
Sewing Machine Reviews Recommendation Level : HIGH
This is an inexpensive sewing machine from Singer. It comes with 25 year limited warranty.
Features Run Through
SINGER 2259 comes with a foot controller. The presser foot lifter lever lets you raise and lower the presser foot. You can select the stitches using the stitch selector dial. It comes with 19 built-in stitches. There is another dial for selecting the stitch length. A tension dial is also provided at the top of the machine.
SINGER 2259 has a reverse lever, but it doesn’t have a reinforce option. You can manually move the needle up and down using the wheel provided at the side of the sewing machine. The storage compartment is large enough to store all your accessories. It has an automatic 4 step buttonhole.
The user manual is not up to the standards. It is very difficult to understand. It doesn’t have much information about maintenance and care. Many users have reported that they got a Spanish user manual. I wonder when Singer will fix it.
The straight stitches on SINGER 2259 come out perfect. The machine has a good number of utility stitches. The stitches and tension were fine on this machine. It does a decent job with multiple layers of fabrics as well. This machine operates quietly.
Not a lot of decorative stitches are available with this sewing machine. SINGER 2259 is not quite suitable for quilting, you can’t argue for the price they have on this machine. It does a decent job with small quilts though. The reverse button is placed awkwardly.
- Easy to use
- Not a lot of decorative stitches
- Poor user manual
- Awkward reverse button
