To be honest, this machine looks like a toy, the price and performance suggests so. Singer Zigzag Chainstitch Sewing Machine is a toy for kids of over 6 years. It is a beautiful looking sewing machine with the pink color. I love the color of this sewing machine. It looks really cute, kids will love this. The machine comes threaded in the box. There is a little carrying handle at the top. The machine is not heavy at all. It weighs just 4.5 pounds. It is very easy for kids to carry as there is a small carrying handle provided.
Singer Zigzag Chainstitch Sewing Machine requires 2 D batteries to operate. The batteries are not included in the box. You can select between straight stitch or zig zag stitch using a lever. There is a cute little storage compartment under the stitch lever, where you can store the extra spool thread, needle threader and measuring tape that come as accessories along with this sewing machine. You can start operating the sewing machine using the foot pedal.
When you turn on Singer Zigzag Chainstitch Sewing Machine a light will lit up. The built-in light is good enough for operating under low light conditions. One good feature of this sewing machine is that there is a case cover to protect children from getting in direct contact with the needle.

Not highly impressed with the performance of Singer Zigzag Chainstitch Sewing Machine. You can barely find the difference between a straight stitch and a zig zag stitch in some cases. Both look similar. The zig zag stitch is not very pronounced, quality is not great to say the least. It skipped stitches when done on a card. Threading the machine is not that easy either.

Overall, Singer Zigzag Chainstitch Sewing Machine is not that good a machine. It doesn’t cost much, but I can’t recommend it to you. I know how much it takes to earn few dollars and I don’t want you to waste it for nothing. Actually you can’t expect more for the price. It is a ‘You get what you pay for’ machine. Even if you are buying it as a toy for your kid, it should be able to add some value I guess. According to me, this sewing machine does not have a lot to offer.
If you want a basic sewing machine that has something to offer in terms of performance and features, you can consider Brother LS2125i. It is a perfect machine for beginners.
