It seems Singer has given more importance to aesthetics than on features and performance. 4228 has 28 built-in stitches, you might see some online shopping sites saying it has just 18 built-in stitches. It is not true, 4228 has 28 built-in stitches and a fully automatic 1-step buttonhole. The machine also features an automatic needle threader to save eye strain.
