Pinking Shears
While you’re at it, get her some Pinking Shears to finish the seams automatically. Pinking shears make sewing easier! I wouldn’t want to try and sew without them! Pattern Cutting Board
If you see her cutting out patterns on the floor or the dining room table, how about protecting that table and/or saving the carpet by getting her a cutting board. The squares help her line everything up straight so the garment will hang properly too. I would never want to be without my pattern cutting board. Cutting Mat
Or instead of a cutting board, a cutting mat also helps her keep the lines straight and makes pinning the pattern pieces properly an easier task. If space is at a premium, this rolls up, so easy to store.

Here I am showing a hard case sewing machine carrying case, a rolling sewing machine carrier (my fave, I love wheels on luggage or carriers,) and a soft sided carrier. A set of different threads. Lots of thread. Thread is something a seamstress can’t get by without, so it’s always welcome. Save her a trip to the store. She can’t have too much thread!
Thread Rack
How about a thread rack to house all the thread so she can pick the color she needs easily. Or a bobbin rack for all those bobbins. This way they are easy to get to instead of in a drawer with tangled up threads everywhere.
Sewing Machine Light
Another great gift for seamstresses. A great sewing machine light. I wish I had one of these. For sewing it really helps to have good light so she can see all the stitching and the eye of the needle when she threads the sewing machine. Save her eyes from eyestrain. Get her a great light!
